Lampshade Example

This is the first 40cm lampshade I made not long ago...not bad for a first attempt...I spent a little more time on this one as I wanted to grasp the more difficult bits. Compared to the smaller lampshades I have made they do seem more difficult the larger you go. But I was happy with this one. I learnt that I will be better to use a thicker inner side material (white) as when the light is switched on you can start to see the design coming through. So that is one thing I learnt...and it is good because I can experiment with different coloured inner materials too!

Lampshades

I am finally getting these fabric designs cut up ready for various sized lampshades.

I have created these a while ago, using natural objects directly in my work as well as drawing with hot wax - to give a looser feel to my handwriting style. I like using my natural objects directly as I get 100% original marks / motifs....I think that is my unique selling point! I also like combining the hand drawing with the natural object motifs to really gain the eyes interest.
